Shake Shake - Did you know the kolukattai doesn't make a sound?

Today was my kolukattai ceremony.

Actually my first tooth appeared on 25th Dec last year, but I guess Appa's birthday is as good a day as any to celebrate my teeth being strong. I was in a lot of paint in Dec, and it was the juncture when I stoped drinking milk from the bottle until further notice ( the notice is still ongoing)

They threw the kolukattai over my head.
 * I picked it up, shook it, realized it doesn't make a sound and then I guess I ate it*

Patti and Ammama throw the kolukattai over my head.Like they literally plonked it on my head!

This small piece is a kolukattai?

Out of focus ** Yeah the patterns on this cloth are really something else......

Amma forcing me to focus and pick the kolukattai. 

Nope..... I don't want it.

Okay, fine, I'll take a bite.  Okay, yeah, it's yummy!

The Unsteady Climber

So now that you are moving. and standing................, I seem to be unable to rest Aathesh. You keep climbing all over me when I lie on the carpet. When you are NOT climbing, you seem hell bent on breaking your head by falling down on the room parquet.

(While lying down on my side) We need to have a chat, son. Appa is old now, I need to rest. Aathesh...are you listening to me? Aathesh......? (Aathesh is ignoring me and continues trying to stand up unsteadily)

*Sigh* I guess I will just sit up and make sure you don't fall then....

Aathesh's First Holiday!

Dear Aathesh,

This is Port Dickson, we come here every school holidays.

Did you enjoy the ostrich park? I am scared of ostriches.....they so big. So I stand next to Appa.

This is where we stay, and we always use the swimming pool. And YOU Swam today! You were like a motorboat, and so brave and strong and not feeling cold and Annai and I were like, WOW, i mean WOWOOW!!!!

The big space of water you saw is called the sea....although Amma and Appa call it the Straits......maybe because the water is all straight and all. If you are still wondering, maybe we can consult Annai later. Annai knows a lot of stuff. Because he is bigger and the biggest of us all. Not Bagyam, she's just noisy.

The loud place we entered just now ( in where you really slept through in spite of the drums trashing) is called a pub, spelled P.U.B. We are not supposed to go there by ourselves.

So you see, if you need any answers, you can ask Chinnanai. I can tell you many things because I am bigger than you.

And did I mention you are soooooooooooooo cutie pie? Aathes enge? Hehehehe. See here a shot of just the two of us......

Food Feeding Aathesh

Dear Kuttyyan,

We fed you sweet rice today at the temple. As always, we werent able to take a photo of this ceremony in particular because it is always in the temple.

Like all your siblings, you bit right into your father's fingers and licked up all the pukkai satham.
